Kayla Wagner didn’t know what it meant to BE a Christian, to follow Christ, what it meant to be a godly wife, and parent the way the Bible teaches, when she came to New Life Church. She knew the Ten Commandments and who Jesus was, but she did not KNOW Jesus.
During her first few years at New Life, she joined a small group and also began helping with the preschool children on Sunday mornings and AWANA clubs. She was challenged spiritually through her interactions in ministry and through the messages every Sunday morning. To be challenged was one thing, but to put those things into practice and allow them to change her, was a step that didn’t happen until 2013.
Through some challenges that became overwhelming, Kayla truly got to KNOW Jesus and trust Him with her whole life. She dug deeper into God’s Word to study His truths, and began developing friendships that held her accountable in her walk with the Lord. “My relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in my life,” Kayla shares. “2013 has been the most challenging, but has become the best year now that I have Jesus.”
Kayla is most inspired by her own son, Austin. Though very young, he shares Jesus with everyone he meets. Austin expresses a desire to be a missionary someday and is hungry to learn scripture and more about God every day. Both Austin and Kayla have experienced the love of Jesus and what it means to have a relationship with Him through the support, encouragement and love shown by the New Life congregation.
