In January of 2010 Tim and Linda stepped foot into New Life Church for the very first time. Little did they know at the time, that they had found a family to do life with.
After being married for less than a year, Tim and Linda decided they wanted to find a church that could become ‘theirs’ together. Linda had been involved in a church in the local area and Tim had moved in from out of state when they got married, but they just couldn’t agree on a home church.
Growing up in Christian homes, Tim and Linda had always been very active in their churches through different areas of ministry. In their search for a church home that would meet both their needs and desires, they would talk in private about finding a place where they could just “fit in” with the crowd.
The first thing they noticed about New Life was the friendliness. “The old saying bore true, ‘the end of your search for a friendly church’.” Tim shares. “The people were not only friendly, but we also found the overwhelming, audacious presence of the Holy Spirit of God.”
Tim and Linda quickly learned that just “fitting in” wasn’t going to work at New Life. “Each week the music, sermons, and teachings became a huge blessing to us. We enjoyed coming to worship the Lord Jesus and were challenged to serve and love others as Christ loves us. I am a little more ‘excitable’ in the way I praise and worship then some, and I was extremely pleased to find out that I was accepted to just to be myself!” Tim explains.
They both soon got involved in a Life Group and began establishing relationships with other New Life members. Their excitement for Jesus and the body of Christ grew and they couldn’t help but jump into other ministries within the church. Linda began helping in the Nursery, on the Praise Team and with the AWANA clubs. Tim was given the opportunity to use his gift of teaching as a Life Class Leader.
Once they caught the fire, Tim and Linda couldn’t get enough of God’s presence and doing life with the body of Christ at New Life. They both now serve on New Life’s Fellowship team and get to give back to what drew them to New Life in the first place, “a friendly welcome”.
“We learned that we couldn’t just sit back and fit in. There is something about this place. Our church is AUDACIOUS and God is up to something here. All I can say is… I LOVE MY CHURCH!”
